Louisa Thomson MRICS

RICS Registered Valuer

Managing Director

Having joined C&D Rural in 2016, Louisa took over as Managing Director in 2019 and undertakes all aspects of Land and Estate Agency work, with a particular focus on renewables as well as valuations and asset strategy for secured lending or Inheritance Tax and succession planning.

Louisa followed up a degree in Accountancy with a Master of Economics in Property at Aberdeen University and then took a Graduate Traineeship in Edinburgh. She later moved to Glasgow to work with CBRE where she qualified as a Chartered Surveyor (MRICS) in 2007.

She was latterly an Associate Director in CBRE’s National Valuation Advisory team where she undertook valuations across all property sectors from Stornoway to Langholm, and everywhere in between, and provided extensive asset strategy advice across all sectors.

In 2016, Louisa returned home to join the family at C&D Rural, returning to rural work where her heart truly lies.

Originally from Dumfriesshire with an active history in Annandale Young Farmers’ Club, Louisa would often be seen droving sheep at Thornhill Auction Mart during school and university holidays, or more latterly clerking sheep sales in both Dumfries and Thornhill during lamb sale season.

When not working, Louisa is kept busy by her three sons who love nothing better than a trip to the Auction Mart or gathering sheep.
