Home | Tenant Amnesty

To all farm tenants in Scotland – time is running out.

Please remember that the amnesty period for Tenant’s improvements, under the Land Reform (Scotland) Act 2016 expires on 12th June 2020.

After this date no improvement carried out without Landlord’s consent will be eligible for compensation at the end of your tenancy.

If you have carried out any improvements (buildings, drainage, new fencing, road building etc.) during your tenancy, that you do not have your Landlord’s written consent for,  you should contact us to agree with your Landlord that these works should be treated as a Tenant’s improvement and be valued for compensation to you at the end of your tenancy.

The amnesty applies to all improvements completed before 13th June 2017.

If in doubt give us a call for a chat with no obligation or click the image to direct you to the Scottish Government’s Website.
