Glasson is a pleasant hamlet in Cumbria, located 11 miles west of Carlisle within the Solway Coast AONB. Wigton lies 9.2 miles to the South.
The M6 can be accessed at Junction 44, approximately 20 miles drive time. West Coast Mainline rail services are available from Carlisle, with hourly services to London in a travel time of under 3.5 miles. The area is popular in the summer with visitors and in particular with people walking The Hadrian’s Wall Path which passes directly through the village.
The site is situated at the South Western end of the village adjacent to existing dwellings and with the benefit of significant frontage to the Public Highway. The site extends to approximately 1.52acres and is largely level and rectangular in shape.
The site was granted outline planning permission in May 2018 under reference 2/2018/0188 for 8 bungalows. The proposed scheme is shown on the attached plan.
The vendors have concluded a s.106 agreement with Allerdale Council. The agreement provides for one unit to be designated as an affordable unit to be sold at not more than 70% of the Open Market Value of the unit. A full copy of the agreement is available upon request.
