Jacob Armett: A new addition to the team!
Jacob Armett, a 20 year old third year Rural Enterprise and Land Management student from Harper Adams has recently started his placement year for C&D Rural Ltd. Originally from Derbyshire, Jacob relocated two years ago to move to Shropshire to undertake his studies at Harper Adams. Currently in his 3rd year, the course presents the opportunity for all students at Harper Adams to gain 12-14 months of practical experience for a company in their chosen field. Jacob said “I opted to do my placement at C&D Rural because I preferred the idea of working in a smaller office, one which I may be given more responsibility and feel that I am a more essential member of the team. Being able to be actively involved in various different tasks, utilising my time effectively”.
Jacob has already started working closely alongside our land agent, Emily McBride, helping with work and shadowing Emily on market appraisals and valuations. In addition, Jacob states he enjoys a challenge and due to our location on the Scottish/English border he has found that learning and remembering property law for either side of the border has already presented itself as a challenge.
He further commented;
“Working at C&D Rural has presented many practical elements that relate to my course and physically being out in the field has allowed me to visualise the theory that has been taught while studying at Harper Adams… So far during my time here at C&D Rural I have been involved in a broad range of task including property viewings and probate farm valuations and I am eagerly keen to learn so much more.”
Jacob aspires to one day graduate from Harper Adams with a Bsc Hons degree in Rural Enterprise and Land Management and continue to do his assessment of profession competence with a view of becoming a fully qualified Chartered Surveyor and a Member of Royal Institution of Charted Surveyors (MRICS)
All of us at C&D Rural and the Auction Mart welcome Jacob with open-arms. Glad to have you on the team Jacob!
